Playdowns are a time-honored  Suzuki tradition in which students of all ages and abilities perform their shared Suzuki repertoire together. At the Chicago Suzuki Playdown, violin students and teachers from many different schools across Chicagoland come together to celebrate our shared connection through music!

Mandatory Rehearsal/Class Attendance Details

Attendance at one rehearsal is mandatory to participate in performance.

Concert Dress Code
Use your best judgement!

Since this venue is outdoors, please dress according to the weather, i.e. anticipate lighter fabrics if it is hot.

​

Dresses, dress shorts/tops, and sandals are acceptable.

​

Cancellation
In case of cancellation of the concert, you will be notified by 2pm via the email address submitted with your RSVP at chicagosuzukiplaydown.org.

Day of Instructions

​We will have more specific "day-of" instructions as we get closer to the concert date!​​

​​Additional Notes

This is an outside performance - use sunblock and bug spray as needed, dress accordingly, and bring water.

   

All pieces should be memorized and polished. Performers will stand during the entire performance.

  

Please encourage your students to stay afterward to listen to the concert!

​

We specifically requested to be on this evening's concert because Augustin Hadelich playing the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto is the concert to see in Chicago this summer for all violinists!  

​

Seats on the lawn are free, and they can bring food to picnic on the lawn.  

​
